UEA-311 Multivariate Statistics
|Period P3c - University of East Anglia at Norwich, England||Year 2|
|UEA-311||Multivariate Statistics||3 ECTS||Period P3c||UEA|
|Objectives:This is a compulsory module. Multivariate statistics used in advanced ecological analyses are covered in this module. These include General Linear Models, Analysis of Variance, Logistic Regression, and Principal Components Analysis. Students will learn how to run these tests using the statistical package SPSS and how to critique the results. |
Outcomes:To introduce students to the statistical framework called General Linear Modelling (GLM), combining linear regression, ANOVA, and ANCOVA into single technique. To review issues in experimental and sampling design and the assumptions underlying LMs and the principles of model simplification. To learn binary logistic regression, contingency table analysis, and Principal Components Analysis (PCA). To learn how to run these tests on computers using a standard statistical package (SPSS) and to interpret and present the results.
